Our Journey

Canada House (formerly Marijuana For Trauma) was founded in 2013 by Canadian Forces veterans. Their mission was to help alleviate the suffering of veterans struggling with their operational stress injuries. The company grew quickly as a result of the significant therapeutic benefits cannabis therapy offered these veterans and their families.

Canada House Wellness Group was created to grow precision medical-grade cannabis for our Veteran patient base with the reverse takeover of Abba Medix in 2016. They named Canada House Wellness Group after the well-known safe haven and gathering place facility in Kandahar for Canadian and Allied soldiers.

MFT, the clinic division of Canada House, decided to rebrand itself to Canada House in 2018 while continuing to help and support Veterans and related non-profit groups and their initiatives, most notably the P.T.G.A.  This national organization focuses on building land-based healing retreats, events, and peer support for trauma patients and assisting other like-minded non-profits. Our founders’ continued vision was to offer free services to veterans, a policy still followed to this day.

As Canada House grew nationally, so did the mission. We set our sights on providing an alternative treatment option to Canadians with common to complex medical conditions for whom conventional treatments had failed. Our organization has expanded to 14 clinics in 6 provinces with over 55 employees dedicated to helping clients on the front lines.

Today, Canada House has helped more than 14,000 Canadians and is one of three Canada House Wellness Group Inc. subsidiaries operating in concert to develop evidence-based cannabinoid therapy treatment plans and products. It is this data-driven and hands-on approach to cannabinoid therapy that our clients value most.

Supporting veterans continues to be in our DNA, and we have veterans within our leadership team.   Canada House has continued to fund traditional peer support programs for Veterans hosted where possible in our clinics.    The programs leverage the Post Traumatic Growth Association in Canada. Canada House values what the P.T.G.A. has created and will continue to partner with the P.T.G.A. on important initiatives to help Veterans and their families.
