Appointments
Once you have registered with Canada House, every new patient is required to meet with one of our experienced Cannabis Therapy Educators (CTEs). During your appointment, you will receive education about medical cannabis and evaluate if you would be a suitable candidate for medical cannabis treatment.
Following your CTE appointment, you will meet with one of our in-house Canada House doctors who will finalize your medical cannabis treatment plan and provide you with a prescription for medical cannabis.
Cannabis education appointments
The Screening and Cannabis Education Appointment – What to Expect:
- A typical screening and education appointment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
- These appointments are done in-clinic as well as remotely.
- Our health care practitioner will gather relevant information about your health and medical condition.
- We will provide you with a basic understanding of cannabis therapy, and guide you through the licensed producer (LP) selection process.
Physician appointments
What can I expect from my appointment with the health care practitioner?
- Typical appointment time is 10 minutes.
- The prescribing health care practitioner will decide your dosage requirements and the duration of your prescription.
Virtual medicine appointments
As an option for physician appointments, Canada House offers remote video appointments. It can be used from your home or a nearby Canada House location. This service is available in every province except Québec. There is no additional cost for virtual medicine appointments.
Booking a virtual medicine appointment
The process for booking a remote appointment is the same as booking a regular appointment:
- Obtain a referral or document stating your official diagnosis from your primary care provider
- Register as a patient with Canada House
- We will follow up with you to book your appointment
Every new patient is required to meet with one of our cannabis therapy educators (CTEs) before meeting with our physician.
