Did you know July 30th, 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of medical cannabis in Canada?

Medical cannabis has evolved greatly over the past 20 years. Canada House has been honored to contribute to the growth of the cannabis industry since 2013.

Canada House (formerly Marijuana for Trauma) was founded by Canadian Forces veterans whose mission was to help alleviate the suffering of fellow veterans struggling with their operational stress injuries. The company grew quickly because of the significant therapeutic benefits cannabinoid therapy offered these veterans and their families. We were the first cannabis clinic to have clients connected between Veterans Affairs coverage and their Licensed Producers, while also educating Licensed Producers on how to navigate the cannabis coverage process through Veterans Affairs.

As Licensed Producers were able to stabilize their incomes with their growing patient bases, Marijuana for Trauma blazed through clinic openings across Canada. We now proudly serve our clients at 14 clinics as well as virtually Canada-wide. As the first medical cannabis clinic serving veterans with VAC coverage, we were able to educate the population enough to incur the opening of competitor clinics and inspire others to offer similar services to our own. Today, there are many cannabis clinic options available, which Canada House was pleased to pioneer.

Canada House continues to educate clients and medical professionals across Canada, while developing evidence-based cannabinoid therapy treatment plans and products. It is this data-driven and hands-on approach to cannabinoid therapy that our client’s value most.

Supporting Veterans is in our DNA, and we continue to have Veterans within our leadership team.  Canada House remains true to the mission, “veterans helping veterans”, by funding the Post-Traumatic Growth Association (PTGA). The purpose of the PTGA peer groups and activities is to provide an environment for connecting with others who are like minded and have similar circumstances; with the goal of reducing isolation and encouraging community connection.
